Has anyone had success in stopping smoking with a prescription pill?

JimmysWIFEY asked: I am 23 and smoke a pack and half a day. I have an appointment today to get a prescription pill to help me stop smoking. I was just wondering if anyone has had success with this or something else.
Also, is it safe to take the pill and the gum/patch?
